(What you doin’?) Nothing chillin’ at the Holiday Inn.
(Who you wit?) Me and my peeps, won’t you bring four of your friends
Yup, those are the lyrics of the famous Chingy song a few years ago and that’s exactly what I was doing last Thursday night, chilling at the Xennya Terrace of the Holiday Inn Al Barsha. If you’re not familiar with the place, it is a full bar with only an outdoor seating area at the rooftop of the hotel.
It’s only open during the cooler months right after the summer and it’s the perfect place to hang out and catch up with friends while enjoying the views of Sheikh Zayed Road and Burj Al Arab.
Xennya terrace is more of a shisha lounge than an actual restaurant. They pride themselves with the best and smoothest shisha in town and I completely agree having tried their offerings on Thursday.
Although they’re more popularly known for the shisha and the ice cold drinks, me and my friends decided to try on their appetizers to complement the beer at hand. We ordered nachos, calamari and buffalo wings. To be perfectly honest, they are not the best tasting appetizers I’ve ever had but they were not bad and so we totally enjoyed their food.
What I like the most about the place is the unparalleled view of the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Sheikh Zayed Road on the other hand also didn’t sound as busy as it normally is and from the top, it actually is a nice sight to see. The spacious terrace offers a perfect venue to have a Shisha in traditional Arabic style with a complete selection of beverages along with traditional Arabic Food.
The service was also good because they kept on checking if everything was ok and if we needed something for the whole duration of our stay at the bar. I also have to mention that the prices were easy on the pocket and you can come here without breaking the bank.
Overall, we stayed for about 3 hours just chilling enjoying the views, the food and the beer at the Xennya Terrace Bar. If you are looking for an alternative place which is different from the usual restaurants and bar, the rooftop shisha lounge is definitely a great idea and is highly recommended.
